Hello ColorOS Superfans!
As you know, ColorOS has some really cool features. In this article, I'll write what more ColorOS can do as you might have missed some of its features. You can call it tips & tricks.
Let's start!
11. ENABLE APP DRAWER ColorOS 6 has an Android style App Drawer to Oppo’s devices which makes ColorOS more intuitive to use for new Android users. The feature is not enabled by default so you will have to enable it if you want to use it. In Settings->Home Screen Mode, enable the Drawer Mode to get the app drawer.
12. ENABLE THREE FINGER SCREENSHOT Three finger screenshot is a very useful feature. You don’t have to press the power key and volume key for a few seconds to screenshot. This is more fast and accurate. To Enable, Settings -> Smart & Convenient -> Gesture & Motion
13. SCREEN RECORDING If you want to record something from the screen then you can do that on your device without downloading third-party applications. ColorOS does have the same feature inside the device. You can also record sound along with the screen. To Enable, Swipe Down Notification Panel –> Start Screen Recording –> Allow Sound Recording
14. SPLIT SCREEN Split screen feature really comes in handy when you want to use two application simultaneously when your device has a bigger display. To Enable, Setting –> App Split Screen –> Enable
15. ROTATE WITHOUT AUTO-ROTATE Traditionally, in order to rotate the screen to landscape, you would have to keep the auto rotate toggle in the quick toggles enabled. With ColorOS 6, that’s no longer needed. Every time you tilt the phone sideways, a small button will pop up at the right side of the navigation bar. You can tap this button to switch to landscape orientation. When you’re using the phone in landscape orientation and turn it upright, the button will show up once again so you can switch back to portrait. Note: this will work only when auto-rotate is not enabled.
16. CLONE APPS Clone Apps feature adds the ability to run two instances of the same app on a single device. I only use it for creating and using two WhatsApp accounts but you can use this feature for any social media or chatting application. ou can enable this feature by going to Settings -> Clone Apps. Here, tap on the app you want to run a copy of and then rename the new app. Once you do that, ColorOS will automatically create a copy of the same app.
17. NETWORK SPEED INDICATOR Network speed indicator is a very handy feature. It also helps sometimes to know whether your wifi is working or not or your data is left or not. To Enable, Settings –> Notification and Statusbar –> Real-time Network Speed.
18. DISPLAY RAM INFORMATION FOR RECENT TASKS This setting enables the display of RAM information at the bottom whenever you invoked the recent apps menu similar to older version of ColorOS. To enable the RAM information, Go to Settings -> Additional Settings and enable the “Display RAM/Memory Information for Recent Tasks option.”
19. REMOVE GAME SPACE ICON If you want to keep their app drawer/homescreen neat and clean. The 'Game Space' (Not Game Center) icon might be a bummer for you. To remove the icon from homescreen, go to settings->game space->game space on homescreen-> turn on "disable game space on homescreen"
20. ENABLE USB OTG CONNECTION Using the OTG cable you can connect the pen drive to the mobile and transfer the files between Pendrive and mobile device. To do this transfer you need to first enable the connection from the settings. To Enable, Settings –> Additional Settings –> OTG connection –> Enable
BOUNS TIP: DISABLE APP PREDICTION In the app drawer where the top row shows you app predictions which AI think is useful to you. If you found this top row annoying and want to disable it, pinch in with two fingers on the home screen then tap on Settings. Here disable the “Show App Predictions” option.
