「ColorOS Photo Club」BEAUTY IN BLOOM
Hi ColosOS Fans!
I hope you are all doing well and still enjoying quarantine life! I will be now presenting my 2nd article for this month and would want to share with you how refreshing it is to look at flowers as a part of nature. I will be having this topic of “Flower Photography”.
As we all know, flowers is one of the most photographed subject in all areas. Why? It surrounds us, it is like almost everywhere we go. From our homes, gardens, parks and even offices! It might look so easy, but doing so, we have to battle the wind to capture a beautiful flower in a broad daylight.
Flower photography usually happens in a broad daylight where the color, shape and size of a flower can be seen with it’s every detail. You will take control as to what view you would want to shoot – a petal, the head or the overall body of the flower? It’s up to you. It would also be fun to try different angles to show what a flower is.
It will also look great if you capture a bunch of flowers in a garden, showing its natural habitat and what lives with them. Like what I’ve mentioned, your perspective matters, it’s up to you on how to take a good photo of a flower with its surrounding to showcase how it lives.
Changing perspectives does not just mean on how to take the photo, it also means creating a story within it. Take your creativity into another level by editing the photo which will create a story to show what a flower is. It is also important to take note that backlight because it will make the flower glow at a certain point.
Focus on the flower and turn the background into a aesthetic one. Though focus is one of the hardest part in doing flower photography because a single wind can sway the flower and it might bring a less significant impact.
You can use manual focusing on camera to take a good photo and making it sharp. You can also use macro mode to take one, so the focus will be on the photo even you’re in a very close range with it.
You can just spot any flower around you and turn it into a beautiful flower photography that shows the details of the flower. This one shows the paper-like petal of the Bougainvillea glabra which was taken just outside our house. This certain flower comes with different colors, but this is the one that I like the most.
You can also take the chance to show the very detail of a certain flower – the color, the style, the petal, the head, the stem and even the leaves!
Keep it steady! It may take long to capture one, but it will be worth it in the end. The wind is our opponent in flower photography, so I understand how hard it is to take one. But once the wind is gone, take your chance to capture it!
Just like What I’ve mentioned, sunlight is very essential in taking one. It will help you show what a flower really is.
That is all for my article today. I hope you loved it, and you can also share below your flower photography! I know that there are a lot of techniques when it comes to this kind of photography, so I’ll be happy to see some of your works.
I hope that I was able to at least share to you my take on flower photography and enjoyed reading this.
I would like to thank @Amit_T for answering all of my questions when it comes to writing the articles.
I hope that you all will stay safe!
Thank you!
