How To Get Great Photos In Lowlight & Night time

Today I'm going to discuss about how you can take better shots in dark.In this article will have alook on.Lets don't further waste time & get started.


Topic 3. Long Exposures

Slow Speed

In simple words slow speeds are used to do long exposures and capture light trails or simply do light painting.

Tools for long Exposure

These are tools which are required for long exposure also we require Manual Camera App mostly all default camera app has it.

Firework

FAST SHUTTER SPEEDS-Freeze movement

1. ISO from 1600

2. Use fast shutter speeds

SLOW SHUTTER SPEEDS-Blur movement

1. Shutter speeds 1-5 secs

2. ISO from 100- keep it low as possible

3. Tripod essential

The Moon

1. Tripod is essential for moon photography

2. Telephoto lens attachment for details but if you have high zoom camera use it no need of telephoto lense

3. ISO from 400

4. Spot metering useful

5 Monitor whether reports-Plan ahead to avoid clouds


Light Trails

1. White Balance can be warm or cool depending on mood.

2. ISO from 50 keep low as possible

3. Consider the time & place you shoot to maximise movement

Light Painting

1. Tripod is essential

2. ISO from 50 keep low as possible

3. Wireless remote with timer for best results

4. Use location with little light

5. Bring touch light to help in focusing

Stars

1. Tripod is essential

2. Wireless remote or Timer

3. Monitor Weather reports-plan ahead to avoid clouds and shoot on night with no moon.

4. Go for very high ISOs-3200

5. Manual focus may be needed to do so

6. Exposures should not be more than 20s

7. Post editing for noise reduction


Star Trails

1. Download NightCap App for Star Trails

2. Use Wireless or Remote

3. Monitor Weather condition-plan ahead to avoid clouds and shoot on night with no moon.

4. Use very low ISOs

5. Exposures should be long as possible

6. Post -editing for noise reduction
