Hello ColorOS Family,

IMG_20200826_150651_663.jpg

Welcome back to my another article, I hope you guys are absolutely fine and doing well.
In today’s article I’m going to share the editing process of “ColorPop or Selective Colour”.

Before starting the editing tutorial let’s see some of amazing ColorPop pictures clicked and edited by me!

Look at these pictures, only a single colour or subject is visible and other colours and elements of the picture are low saturated or black and white! ColorPop technique is used to show the main subject to the viewer directly. Single colour from black and white picture catch the viewer’s eye and the picture also looks so amazing.

Now let's start the editing tutorial!

We're going to use Snapseed Mobile App in today's editing tutorial, most probably you guys have this application in your phone but in case if you haven't download from here;

After installing the app open the application and follow the steps to know how to edit Selective Colour pictures!

  • Step – 1 - When you'll open the application, you'll see the interface like this. Click anywhere on the screen and add the picture you want to edit.

  • Step – 2 – Once you added the picture, you’ll see the three options Styles, Tools and Export. Click on tools setting.

  • Step – 3 – When you’ll open the tools settings, it will show the all tools available in Snapseed mobile application, select the black and white tool from the available options.

  • Step – 4 – Then it will show the types of black and white filter you can apply on your picture. I've selected Contrast according to your picture you can also apply any by tapping on the filter name.

Now your picture will turn into full black and white. You might be thinking what about the selective colours because the picture is now turned into black and white.  Click on the tick button after applying the black and white effect.Hold on it’s not the end, now the magic tool (I call it) of snapseed will do it's magic let's see how!?.

  • Step – 5 – Now, click on the view edits or undo button Located at upper portion.
Then click on the view Edits button, it will show the editing you've did on your picture.
We've only applied black and white filter so only it will be visible click on black and white option and then brush option as marked in picture.

  • Step – 6 – Now you’ll see your unedited version of your picture with some tools available on the screen, click on the invert tool located in left corner and marked in picture below.
It will Invert the setting and you’ll see your picture in black and white mode.
You’ll also see UP and DOWN arrows that shows the capacity of the setting you want to apply on your picture.
Decrease it down to 0 so it will work as Eraser.

Step – 7 – As we've changed the brush capacity to 0, so it will work as eraser. Now simply move your finger from the part you want to erase the black and white filter or the subject you want to keep in colour.
Remove the filter from every part of the subject carefully.
There's a eye button on the screen you'll see, click on it to check if any black and white portion left on you picture.
The red coloured area shows the setting or filter you've applied on your picture. As you can see there's no red mark on my subject so the picture is now Ready to bang to social media platforms.

Click on the tick button after erasing the black and white part from your picture carefully ,click on the tick button and export or save the picture.
