[Winner of the Event]
We are glad that we can select the best idea, submitted by Teja Reddy - Hide App Media.
Participant Name: Teja Reddy
Idea Title: Hide app media from gallery.
Problem / Enhancement: There is no option to hide app specific media in gallery apps either it be built in gallery or 3rd party ones.
Introduction: The first thing I do after installing WhatsApp after resetting my mobile was to create a .nomedia file in the WhatsApp media folder so that all the media from WhatsApp is hidden from any gallery or media playing apps. And I can browse the folders normally with file manager and even perform regular backups without any effect. Same case for any apps like games or telegram. I would like to have an option in file manager to hide media to other apps by selecting particular folder. It's a relatively simple idea to execute. When a user select the folder he/she needs to hide media, then the file manager creates a .nomedia file under the root of that folder i.e," sdcard/WhatsApp/media/. nomedia "
Inspiration: My experience on redhat helped in doing so, also searched on YouTube.
Key factors on which entries were evaluated are innovation, competitor availability and usage priority.
Winner will be contacted for rewards.
